My Style Monday - Black & Turquoise

Today, I'm linking up with Lindsey for My Style Monday.

I love wearing neutrals with pops of color. I think it really makes your accessories stand out. This week I wore black with turquoise accents.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! We had a fairly leisurely one which was nice for a change. Saturday, Mason and I hung out with Grammy and McKayla while Chris worked. We picked out flowers for Grammy's house and went to a local Icecream shop. I shared my banana pudding Icecream with Mase. He loved it :) Sunday we went to church and enjoyed an afternoon in being lazy! It was nice!

Hope everyone's Monday went smoothly. You're 1 day closer to Friday! :)

Trendy Tot Tuesday - Vacation Style

Today I'm linking up with Mrs in Training for Trendy Tot Tuesday!

My family and I were lucky enough to escape for a few days and go on vacation. And by "escape", I mean it in every sense of the word. We were without cell phone/internet service for 4 days (minus a text here and there!) It was nice though! We were able to just relax, enjoy each other's company without the bzzzzzz, ring, bzzzzzzz sounds that so often disrupt our ability to communicate without our little devices! I took a lot of pictures, mostly of Mason! I packed for warmer weather but it ended being a little cooler than the forecast predicted! But no matter what you put this kid in, I think he's adorable!

How handsome are my guys?? We attended a friend's wedding while on vacation!

All dressed up

A fun brunch on Sunday with some great friends. Mase is casual, as usual :)

We had a great time and spent some quality family time together but I have to say, I am SO excited to sleep in my comfy bed tonight! There's no place like home!

I'm rocking my baby...

(I just wanted to write this down because it was so special to me)

I have so much to do tonight. This whole day I've been thinking about everything going on, how busy we are, things I have to get done before we leave tomorrow for a few days. I'm sure you've heard of "packing everything but the kitchen sink." Boy is that true! Babies/toddlers have so many things they need. Pack n play, monitor, blankies, toys, diapers, pacis for bedtime, food, milk, noise machine, etc. etc. etc. As I put Mason down to sleep tonight, I walked out of the room and I told him I loved him, walked downstairs, you know, the normal bedtime routine. A few minutes later he cried so hard. So I went back upstairs, took him out of his crib, and rocked him. He sat facing me, put his head down on my chest, and just let me rock him. He has never been much of a cuddler. When it's time for bed, he wants in his bed. So I held him and rocked him and held him and rocked him. What a special way to say "Hey Mom, slow down. This is what's important." So I did. The packing will get done. Even though it means a later bedtime or packing the car in the morning, it can wait.

There's a cross stitch my Mom made when my oldest sister was a baby. It came to mind tonight as I savored my snuggles... So for all you Moms (and Dads!) out there that have a million things on your mind, a never-ending to-do list, and only 2 hands, keep this in mind when things get too busy..

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
for children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.
-Ruth Hamilton

I love you, Mason.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Busy.

We have a lot going on right now.

Chris is SO excited that we have finally decided to get a garage/shop. The contractors are almost done building it. Next comes concrete, garage door, electrical work, etc! He deserves it. The man works non stop and he seriously needs this shop.

I've also started selling Stella & Dot which I'm THRILLED about and it's really taking off! I have online trunk shows going on, in house trunk shows coming up, and a 5 day vacation with my family in between! It's funny how you think you have nothing planned and then, BAM! You don't have a minute left! But I'm thankful for everything going on right now. It's all a blessing.

If you haven't seen my sister's blog, check it out here. She's doing a $99 giveaway! That's ninety-nine dollars!!! I wish I could win it! :) Good luck, ya'll!

The Little Things

So I'm driving home from church today (Chris had to work) and I roll down the back two windows in an attempt to keep Mason awake until we get home for a nap. The wind was blowing through his hair and a big grin came across his face showing all 12 of his teeth. Following the grin were sweet little giggles. It is in those moments that I think "This is what it's all about." It's the little things in life that make us the happiest.

It's the first blooms that come in Spring that end up in the kitchen window.
It's putting on my makeup with the bathroom window up hearing the birds chirping after winter.
It's my almost 16 month old toddler getting a kick out of stacking gravel on jet ski trailers, steps, and the front walkway.
It's hearing Chris tell Mason to find someone like his Mama and he'll be lucky.
It's going to the bathroom by myself. (A rare occasion once you've become a Mom.)
It's the back porch dinners on a Spring evening.
It's the wet clothes that I have to change after Mason is done splashing in the tub.
It's the moment of "still" in the chaotic world we live in.

It is the little things in life that make me stop and appreciate these moments. I'm so thankful for them.

Check out my sister, Lindsey's, blog tomorrow. She's doing a HECK of a giveaway! :)

Trendy Tot Tuesday

Today, I'm doing my first link up! I'm linking up with Mrs in Training to do Trendy Tot Tuesday.

I'm one of 3 sisters. All I've ever known is girls...until I had my sweet son. Now, when I found out I was having a boy I thought "But boys can't have cute clothes." WRONG! Whoever thinks dressing a boy can't be fun is mistaken, just like I was! I LOVE to dress my boy. I love that he can wear camo pants and a long john shirt and be so stinkin' cute. I figured I'd do my first link up to show him off and what a cute little style he has!
