It's been a long week. Mase has been a little under the weather with a cold for a week now. He's finally on the mend! He's catching up on sleep and I'm hoping to sleep in (meaning 8am) tomorrow morning! A low profile weekend is much needed so I'm glad there is nothing on our calendar!
Mason and I waiting at the Doctor's Office on Wednesday. Even when he's sick, he's still a doll baby!

My baby looks all grown up in this picture! He was enjoying his stroll with Betty on his tricycle and came down to the shop to visit me :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm looking forward to planting the flowers I got for Mother's Day and spending time with Chris and Mason. It's my favorite way to spend my days. Enjoy this beautiful weather!

Mother's Day

In light of the coming holiday, I wanted to share a few of my favorite quotes. These are a few that really touch my heart.

To all the Moms out there. And to my Mason.

"Being a Mother means your heart is no longer yours."

"Before you were conceived, I wanted you.
Before you were born, I loved you.
Before you were here an hour, I would die for you.
This is the miracle of life."
-Maureen Hawkins

"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body."
- Elizabeth Stone

"Dear Lord,
it's such a hectic day, With little time to stop and pray,
For Life's been anything but calm, Since You called me to be a mom -
Running errands, matching socks, Building dreams with matching blocks,
Cooking, cleaning and finding shoes And other stuff that children lose,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs, Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week's mail to read - So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord, Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace, I see then, in my small one's face,
That You have blessed me all the while-
And I stoop to kiss... That precious smile. "

"No one else will ever know,
the strength of my LOVE
FOR YOU. After all you're
the only one who knows what
my HEART sounds like from the inside."

Happy Mother's Day on Sunday!

Oops...Silly Mama

As a Mom, there are things you'll do that you never imagined. The moments when you do anything to make your child giggle because those sounds are better than any embarrassing moment when people see you acting a fool. Squatting down in front of the shopping cart at the grocery store to pop up and play peek-a-boo no matter who's watching. And the silly faces and sounds you make to try to get your toddlers attention from screaming while changing their diaper. As a Mom, you become second. Period. The moment you find out you have a life inside, you should forever be second. I'm ok with that.

The other day I did something that only Moms would do. (And maybe Dads, too.) I had brought Mason's clothes downstairs to wash along with a clean diaper to change him. A few minutes later, I went to change him but couldn't find the diaper anywhere. An hour late ( yes, he had a diaper change) , I go to put the clean clothes in the dryer and, you guessed it, an EXTRA clean diaper...no child should ever leak in a Pampers diaper! Look at this sucker!

Pampers Rock!

Another "Has Mom lost her mind?" moment that I recall was when our family went to see Santa this past December. The Real Santa. The Legendary Santa. Mason wasn't too excited so when we got him off of Santa's lap, I had the paci ready to calm him down. It took me about 10 seconds of trying to push the paci in, very pursed lips, and a shaking head to realize it wasn't Mason I wa trying to give the paci to. It was my husband. He finally said "WHAT are you doing??" I died laughing. It still makes me chuckle.

I really feel like Moms lose their brain when children come along. Mine has been missing for 16 months. Let me know if you find it.

What are your "Has Mom lost her mind?" moments?
