Fashion Friday- Fall Edition

Hi folks!

It's FRIDAY! But even better, Fashion Friday. Woohoo!

I have to dedicate this Fashion Friday to one of my favorite companies, Stella & Dot. I signed up in March and it has been such a fun, rewarding, and pleasant experience! I have interacted and met so many awesome women through Stella & Dot. Whether it be at team meetings or through the trunk shows I've held in people's homes, I have met so many great women.

I want to highlight that today is our FALL LAUNCH. It is, by far, my favorite collection yet.

So, for today, I want to look at all of the trends for Fall. I love it all but here are my favorites:

Allegra Necklace with Valor Studs

I love the delicate Ivie Bangle and Drops Collection shown above.

The Peacock Collection is gorgeous. I LOVE how the earrings can go from Chandelier to stud! SO versatile. There is also a Peacock Statement Necklace to match.

Union Square Scarf- Midnight Bloom

Madison Tech Bag in Poppy. My favorite bag. The color, the structure, the pattern inside, and the versatile change in the look of the bag with the zip up option on the sides. This is the PERFECT Summer to Fall bag.

The Frida Pouf and scarf are a finishing touch to the Madison Tech Bag.

Bold Statement Necklace Right? YES! But it is 3 separate necklaces. Somervell, Christina Link, and Mae together make such a great statement look but wearing each individually allows you to get lots of wear out of them in many different ways.

We have so many other great pieces on our website so go to www.stelladot.com/lesliebarton to browse the entire collection. Love everything?? Ask me about hosting a show online! It's super easy and you get rewarded with your favorite free jewels and bags! Email me at lesliebarton810@gmail.com if you're interested in hosting an online trunk show.

Happy Friday. Hope it's full of great fashion ;)

My love for design.

If I could choose a dream job, it would be design. I would build and design houses and rooms all day long and LOVE it. Colors, design, shapes, structure, textures. Dream. Job.

Chris and I have been very fortunate to be able to buy and remodel 2 homes. With each house and project, we learn more about what we love and don't love. I'm very thankful to have a super , handy-dandy husband who, literally, knows how to do everything. He's a winner.

We used to spend hours...and hours...and HOURS watching HGTV. It was on our TV non-stop. Since we had Mason, it doesn't come on as much but tonight we turned it on and watched it for a few hours. Oh...I have an itch. We've done remodels. I'm ready to build. I would LOVE to start with a clean canvas. Can you imagine a shopping trip to HomeGoods?? Picking out vases, pillows, rugs, and d├ęcor to mold every room around? That would be a dream day for me. One day.... :)

For now, I'll settle for HGTV giving me my fill of design until 12am.

Goodnight, ya'll!

Fashion Friday- How High-Low Can You Go?

Hi ya'll!

I've decided to do a post on Fridays involving Fashion. Favorite trends, colors I'm wearing, Fashion inspiration, etc! I.Love.Fashion. So follow along and post your favorites too!

High-Low Trend.

Are you a yay or nay sayer? I think YAY. I love it! It's so cute. Whether it's an extreme high-low or barely noticeable, I'm loving this fashion trend right now. My husband just got back from a work trip to California and saw me wearing one of my favorite high-low pieces and he said "That's what all the girls in California were wearing. You're on the wrong coast." Haha. (Side-note. One thing I love about my husband is he is a manly-man who notices fashion and what I wear. Now sometimes it's "Where'd you get that?" aka "You bought something else?" but most of the time he notices what I wear, how I wear it, and makes really cute comments about it.)

Below are two pieces from Target I've recently bought.

Seahorse Sundress

Here I am wearing it with Mason and McKayla
celebrating McKayla's 11th birthday!

A weekend in Charleston with my cousins!

I LOVE my seahorse dress. I wear it with my Sunset Beach Charm Necklace and my Brown and Gold studded gladiator sandals. It's my ideal beachy outfit!

The Coral eyelet top is breezy and I love the pop of color it gives against white.

What summer trends are you loving?

Reflecting on my day.

Hey ya'll!

Has it really been almost a month!? Sorry. I'm not always good at this blogging thing.

It's been a crazy month with a lot going on. It's summer? How did June get here so fast. Half of the year is OVER! Before I know it, I'll be planning Mason's 2nd birthday! (Which I'm NOT ready for!)

Speaking of Mason, that little guy is growing up so fast. These last couple of weeks have been full of growing and learning. He does something new every day and I think "When did you learn that?" It makes it fun. There is never a dull moment with a child. He's so busy all of the time which makes me so grateful that he's started to cuddle with me when it's time for bed. Mason has never really been much of snuggler and I'm ok with that. After his first 6 months, when it was time for bed, he wanted you to lay him down and leave. Now, he likes to be rocked and sang to (bless his little heart and ears) and cuddled :) Makes this Mama happy and ends my day remembering to be thankful for each second I have with him. Day-to-day life as a Mom can be stressful, tiring, annoying, and monotonous... It can also be playful, special, wonderful, and fun! It doesn't mean you don't love your children with your whole heart. It just means that you have a LOT to look after. The dishes are never done, the laundry is always piled up, mail is never organized, the house is always a disaster, there's guilt because you didn't cook that night for your family, there's a sometimes short temper that you regret in a second. But that's NORMAL. Or at least that's what I tell myself. We are not perfect. We are human. We cannot do everything or do everything right. But we try. I try. I want to be a good wife, a good mom, a good housekeeper, a financial support for my family. But I fail at every one of those jobs. I like to think I do it right sometimes too. It's all a balancing act that some days I don't feel like I've figured it out! Other days I think, "Yeah, Go me! Mom/Wife of the Day award!" So back to my snuggles with Mason. Those 10, 20, 30 minutes I have to spend quiet time with him are special. It helps me to reflect on my day, my life, my family. It allows me to sincerely pray for the precious life that God has trusted me to take care of, to help, and to teach. I thank God for the many blessings he has given us.

--I know you'll keep growing Mason. But I'm trying to savor our moments (good and bad!) together. Because I know it's fleeting and we aren't always promised tomorrow. So, thank you, Son, for your snuggles, giggles, and smiles at bedtime. --

It's been a long week. Mase has been a little under the weather with a cold for a week now. He's finally on the mend! He's catching up on sleep and I'm hoping to sleep in (meaning 8am) tomorrow morning! A low profile weekend is much needed so I'm glad there is nothing on our calendar!
Mason and I waiting at the Doctor's Office on Wednesday. Even when he's sick, he's still a doll baby!

My baby looks all grown up in this picture! He was enjoying his stroll with Betty on his tricycle and came down to the shop to visit me :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm looking forward to planting the flowers I got for Mother's Day and spending time with Chris and Mason. It's my favorite way to spend my days. Enjoy this beautiful weather!

Mother's Day

In light of the coming holiday, I wanted to share a few of my favorite quotes. These are a few that really touch my heart.

To all the Moms out there. And to my Mason.

"Being a Mother means your heart is no longer yours."

"Before you were conceived, I wanted you.
Before you were born, I loved you.
Before you were here an hour, I would die for you.
This is the miracle of life."
-Maureen Hawkins

"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body."
- Elizabeth Stone

"Dear Lord,
it's such a hectic day, With little time to stop and pray,
For Life's been anything but calm, Since You called me to be a mom -
Running errands, matching socks, Building dreams with matching blocks,
Cooking, cleaning and finding shoes And other stuff that children lose,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs, Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week's mail to read - So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord, Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace, I see then, in my small one's face,
That You have blessed me all the while-
And I stoop to kiss... That precious smile. "

"No one else will ever know,
the strength of my LOVE
FOR YOU. After all you're
the only one who knows what
my HEART sounds like from the inside."

Happy Mother's Day on Sunday!

Oops...Silly Mama

As a Mom, there are things you'll do that you never imagined. The moments when you do anything to make your child giggle because those sounds are better than any embarrassing moment when people see you acting a fool. Squatting down in front of the shopping cart at the grocery store to pop up and play peek-a-boo no matter who's watching. And the silly faces and sounds you make to try to get your toddlers attention from screaming while changing their diaper. As a Mom, you become second. Period. The moment you find out you have a life inside, you should forever be second. I'm ok with that.

The other day I did something that only Moms would do. (And maybe Dads, too.) I had brought Mason's clothes downstairs to wash along with a clean diaper to change him. A few minutes later, I went to change him but couldn't find the diaper anywhere. An hour late ( yes, he had a diaper change) , I go to put the clean clothes in the dryer and, you guessed it, an EXTRA clean diaper...no child should ever leak in a Pampers diaper! Look at this sucker!

Pampers Rock!

Another "Has Mom lost her mind?" moment that I recall was when our family went to see Santa this past December. The Real Santa. The Legendary Santa. Mason wasn't too excited so when we got him off of Santa's lap, I had the paci ready to calm him down. It took me about 10 seconds of trying to push the paci in, very pursed lips, and a shaking head to realize it wasn't Mason I wa trying to give the paci to. It was my husband. He finally said "WHAT are you doing??" I died laughing. It still makes me chuckle.
Mason and The Legendary Santa 2012

I really feel like Moms lose their brain when children come along. Mine has been missing for 16 months. Let me know if you find it.

What are your "Has Mom lost her mind?" moments?

My Style Monday - Black & Turquoise

Today, I'm linking up with Lindsey for My Style Monday.

I love wearing neutrals with pops of color. I think it really makes your accessories stand out. This week I wore black with turquoise accents.
Jewelry- Stella & Dot  | Nails- Sally Hansen Caribbean Coral &  Golden Rule

I hope everyone had a good weekend! We had a fairly leisurely one which was nice for a change. Saturday, Mason and I hung out with Grammy and McKayla while Chris worked. We picked out flowers for Grammy's house and went to a local Icecream shop. I shared my banana pudding Icecream with Mase. He loved it :) Sunday we went to church and enjoyed an afternoon in being lazy! It was nice!

Hope everyone's Monday went smoothly. You're 1 day closer to Friday! :)

Trendy Tot Tuesday - Vacation Style

Today I'm linking up with Mrs in Training for Trendy Tot Tuesday!

My family and I were lucky enough to escape for a few days and go on vacation. And by "escape", I mean it in every sense of the word. We were without cell phone/internet service for 4 days (minus a text here and there!) It was nice though! We were able to just relax, enjoy each other's company without the bzzzzzz, ring, bzzzzzzz sounds that so often disrupt our ability to communicate without our little devices! I took a lot of pictures, mostly of Mason! I packed for warmer weather but it ended being a little cooler than the forecast predicted! But no matter what you put this kid in, I think he's adorable!

How handsome are my guys?? We attended a friend's wedding while on vacation!

All dressed up

A fun brunch on Sunday with some great friends. Mase is casual, as usual :)

We had a great time and spent some quality family time together but I have to say, I am SO excited to sleep in my comfy bed tonight! There's no place like home!
